Energy Solutions Technician

Company Overview

Our client is a global leader in advanced controls and automation technology to create safe, comfortable, secure and efficient homes and facilities. Our client is in the business to customize building solutions systems that integrate HVAC, security, energy management, mechanical systems maintenance/upgrades, fire and life safety, and emergency communication. We are looking to provide them with service Technicians for single and multi family homes.

Location: Pittsburgh (and surrounding areas)

Pay rate: $17 - $22 per unit

Job Requirements:
" Experience in commercial heating and air conditioning equipment, both installation and service.
" Minimum two (2) years experience preferred in the HVAC trade or Technical School equivalent
" Clean Driving Record
" Operates within the client company safety protocols
" Must be ability to read and interpret blue prints, wiring diagrams.
" On call as required
" Must be able to work overtime on occasion.
" Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
" Clean driving records verified every 30 days.
" Excellent record keeping

Experience/skills requirements:
" High School or Technical School diploma or certification of completion.
" Knowledge of HVAC equipment, tools and materials
" Extensive technical skills within the trade
" Strong Customer service and client interfacing skills a must.
" Basic computer skills
" Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
" Ability to read, write and speak English language
" 2 years HVAC trade working experience, preferred

Physical requirements:
" Ability to lift and carry 40-50 pounds in standing and bending positions while walking distances of 10 to 40 feet
" Corrected 20/40 vision with color discrimination. Normal hearing, depth perception, and eye-to-hand coordination
" Normal mobility of neck, back, shoulders, elbows, knees, wrists, fingers, and ankles
" Normal heart, lungs, blood pressure, and reflexes
" Ability to stand on one foot for 60 seconds; change to the other foot for 60 seconds
" Ability to half sit up; knees slightly bent, arms across chest, slow life of head and shoulders to 45 degrees. Repeat 10 times slowly
" Knee to chest 10 times each leg
" Quadricepts-back against wall, slide to 90 degrees and hold position for 60 seconds
" Touch slowly 8 times in sitting position
" Grip Strength in both hands to 50 pounds.

Energy Efficiency Analyst

Location: Pensacola, Florida

Salary: $15/hour (temp to perm position with major fortune 500 client)

This position will work with residential customers (single/multi-family) to make their homes more energy efficient. The auditor will review the customer's current conditions and make recommendations that will reduce the overall utility demand. The recommendations could be anything from when are the most efficient times to run appliances, weatherstripping, to upgrading light bulbs and anything in between. The work program installs various free energy efficiency measures in targeted income eligible neighborhoods in the Gulf power service territory. The purpose of the program is not only to provide devices that will help customers reduce their power consumption, hopefully reducing their light bill, but more importantly, educate customers on how to change their behaviors when it comes to energy use. If you are someone who takes pride in helping people, this can be a very rewarding program.


Job duties:
" Conduct free energy audit (walk-through) for residential customers. Audits include analysis of current energy usage patterns and habits, evaluation of home structure, HVAC ductwork, attic insulation, and relative condition of major appliances
" Addresses customer's operational and environmental objectives, needs and requirements. Recommends solutions and links customer objectives to total value solution and competitive advantage.
" Positively and credibly influences service strategies with home owners. Frequently creates competitive, high quality and timely estimates, proposals, and cost/benefit analysis. Effectively writes, and presents proposals. Negotiates value, addresses resistance and closes the sale.
" Leads the sales team by building and fostering team relationships to ensure customer satisfaction. Solicits support from and communicates effectively with internal staff. Develops relationship with Systems and Solutions sales organization to exceed customers' expectations.
" Acts as the customer's advocate in interactions with the client to ensure the customer obtains the best value.

Education/background requirements:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Certifications: As required by client and project
Experience: 2 years in construction, inspection experience preferred
Proven record of ability to work independently and make good decisions with limited need for supervision or guidance
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
Skilled in prioritizing, organization and time management
General knowledge of energy efficiency products, energy & rate saving calculations, Federal legislative mandates preferred.
General knowledge of transmission, distribution, and substation construction and maintenance

Prefer (but not required) candidates who have had experience conducting energy audits at some point in their careers.
